The area criterion is associated with the project’s potential for generating climate benefits. However, this potential does not only depend on the area. In the case of forest conservation projects, this variable is determined by the type of ecosystem present in the project area, the degree of threat to the forest and the effectiveness of the activities conducted to halt deforestation.<\/p>\n

For reforestation projects, management activities, the species used and the biophysical characteristics of the areas to be intervened are other elements related to the potential of the project, in addition to the area. In summary, the analysis of each project, regardless of its location, combines all the elements previously mentioned.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

It is calculated using approved methodologies endorsed by carbon certification standards. Initially, predictive models are used to estimate the amount of biomass that plantations can reach in the future or the biomass content of the forest to be protected. Subsequently, each time a project intends to generate carbon credits, it must conduct monitoring in the biomass plots. In this way, easily measurable variables are evaluated to determine the amount of carbon capture or emission reductions are actually achieved by the project.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

S\u00ed. You can apply even if no jaguars have been recorded in the area or if the area does not coincide with the jaguar’s distribution. However, the objective of Conexi\u00f3n Jaguar is to conserve and restore forest habitats in the areas of the Jaguar Corridor, and in the case of Chile, in forested areas where the puma lives. Projects that combine carbon credit feasibility with location in the jaguar corridor will be prioritized.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
