The jaguar plays a fundamental ecological role in the balance of ecosystems:
It protects biodiversity, water and forests, ensures the survival of coexisting species and their associated habitats.
Nature is declining at unprecedented rates: : nearly one million species are endangered, and the abundance of native species in major terrestrial habitats has declined by an average of 20% since 1900.
To mitigate this phenomenon, we connect the natural habitats of the jaguar and puma in Latin America by supporting conservation and forest restoration projects. In this way, In this waywe promote soil conservation and create a financing mechanism that benefits communities and the planet.
JAGUAR AND PUMA ONLY EXIST IF THE ECOSYSTEM IS HEALTHY
We innovate to make conservation in the hands of communities profitable and self-sustainable.
To contribute to the mitigation of climate change through the reduction of atmospheric emissions of Greenhouse Gases.
To contribute to the conservation and restoration of areas of importance for biodiversity and connectivity between the main populations of the jaguar in Latin America and the puma in Chile.
To contribute to the conservation and improvement of the services provided by nature, such as water supply, food provision and soil protection.
To contribute to improving the living conditions of rural residents and strengthen their social organizations.
To raise awareness about the deterioration of the environment and the loss of biodiversity on the planet.
the actions and benefits of the program, through the linkage of new allies.
To contribute to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goals 8, 13, 15 and 17: decent work, climate action, life of terrestrial ecosystems and partnerships for the goals.
The 20 verified projects that the program will develop by 2030 will provide the following benefits:
Effective protection of hectares of the Jaguar Corridor.
Offsetting the emissions generated by ISA by 2020 (100.000t of carbon)..
The reduction of 9 million tCO₂e.
More forests, more wildlife and better water for society.
Scientific information to help protect the Jaguar and its associated biodiversity.
In Chile we refer to the Puma (Puma concolor)
Each of the program’s projects has a social component that allows it to comply with the Climate, Community and Biodiversity Alliance (CCBA) certification; these include specific activities that generate direct social benefits for the projects’ promoters and provide them with a better quality of life:
Effective protection of hectares of the Jaguar Corridor.
Food security.
Prevention of child labor, given the strict control of those who are hired to work.
Development of capabilities and competences to generate decent employment
Promotion of territory appropriation, proper land use and respect for individual and collective property.
Increased income from the development of alternative means of production, increased property productivity and employment opportunities.
Gender inclusion, empowering women as active and productive members of the community.
Training for the exercise of human and citizen rights and social and community participation.
Improvement in the provision of community infrastructure.
Issuance of carbon credits
Verification of the project
Project registration
Validation audit
Study of connectivity and fauna
Development of the carbon project
Association of the project
The program integrates an innovative financial model in which ISA contributes close to COP 5 billion, which will support forestry initiatives to carry out the certification process and be able to issue and commercialize carbon credits.
The profits generated ensure that conservation and climate change mitigation, in the hands of communities, is profitable and self-sustaining.
We provide technical and financial support for forestry initiatives in Latin America to commercialize carbon credits to finance conservation in the Jaguar Corridor, generating additional income that benefits the people who live in these territories.
We also work with the communities to raise awareness and provide training on the jaguar and the importance of protecting its habitat, preventing retaliatory hunting, one of the main threats to this feline.
By 2021, we have reduced more than 6 million tCO2 2 to the planet.
Currently, 7 projects are part of the program.
Today we protect more than 784.000 across the continent.
benefits for approximately 300 families.

It develops projects and activities that contribute to climate change mitigation and adaptation. It is a leader in the voluntary carbon credit market.
Within the Program, our ally focuses on:
It is the world’s leading organization dedicated exclusively to the conservation of the 40 existing species of wild felines and their ecosystems, focusing on the largest and most endangered, including the jaguar and the puma.
